HOW THEY MET
Jenny and Kyle met right out of high school at a local college. They started out as friends, but it soon grew to be something much more. Jenny thought Kyle was charming and funny, and Kyle liked Jenny’s outgoing, spunky personality.
They were both living with their parents at the time, so Kyle made Jenny a home-cooked meal for their first date. He impressed her immensely with his culinary skills, but they have never been seen again!
Their first kiss happened after an evening hanging out with friends. Kyle decided that being friends wasn’t going to cut it anymore, so he kissed Jenny on the front porch of her parents’ home!
Because they were friends first, they were able to build an incredible foundation for their relationship. They had an appreciation and respect for each other before the romantic part of their relationship took over.
Jenny said those three little words first. She knew Kyle was the one from the moment they kissed. She’d been nervous about taking their relationship to the next level and “ruining” their friendship. But once they kissed, she knew they were meant to be.
Kyle planned a weekend trip to Paso Robles for their ninth anniversary. After wine tasting at one of their favorite wineries, they sat out by the fire pit overlooking the pond. Kyle had an unwrapped box that he claimed was her anniversary gift.
At that point, Jenny thought the proposal she had hoped for wasn’t going to happen. In the box, was a photo album with pictures that spanned the nine years of their relationship. The last picture in the album was upside down.
When Jenny turned the picture around she realized it was a picture of Kyle on one knee with a sign that said “Will you marry me?” Kyle then got down on one knee and made it official, finally!
I always joked that if we weren’t married by year 10, I would be out. (We both knew this was never a serious threat, though!) Luckily for Kyle, he popped the question on our 9-year anniversary!
One day, while looking at the calendar to find out what day of the week our 10-year anniversary fell on, I literally got chills when I realized it was a Saturday. I knew right then that it was the day for our wedding!
Getting married in wine country in Paso Robles was a no-brainer for us. Paso has always been a special place for us and we have many fond memories of our trips there together. Plus, we love wine! Bianchi Winery was the perfect location for us because it had everything we wanted!
To us, getting married on our 10-year anniversary was very special, and we made sure to note this during our ceremony. We asked Kyle’s dad to be our officiant as he has always been so instrumental in our lives and relationship.
We decided to do a first look so that we could spend as much time with our guests as possible during the reception. This was such a special moment, especially since I spent so much time on the details of my dress, jewelry, and makeup. I couldn’t wait to show it all to Kyle!
For me, the best moment was walking down the aisle in front of all our family and friends and vowing to love and cherish Kyle for the rest of my life. We wrote our own vows to each other, which was important to me and made that moment all the more special.
Our first dance song was “You and I” by John Legend. We randomly found that song on a surprise weekend trip Kyle planned for us. We were in downtown Los Angeles, getting ready, when it came on our music playlist. We instantly knew it was our song!
We both definitely remember our wedding day. Although it does go by quickly, we tried to enjoy every moment and take it all in. It was definitely everything we hoped for and more!
Congratulations, Kyle and Jenny, and thank you so much for sharing your love story with us! Wishing you both much love and laughter in the many years you’ll share together! So many thanks to Lindsey Gomes Photography for sharing their very special day with us today!
