Every year, I choose a word of the year that acts as a kind of guiding light for the year ahead. My word of the year for 2016 was simplify. I chose it because I wanted to simplify pretty much everything about my life and business:
- I wanted to simplify my schedule and find a better balance between my work and my life.
- I wanted to be more productive and intentional with my time.
- I wanted to do less things, but do those things so much better.
Out of all the words I’ve chosen over the years, this one has been my favorite. Because I really, really stuck with it. I pared down and simplified so many aspects of my life and business this year that I truly do feel more intentional and productive with my time overall. I’m not working all hours anymore and I feel so much better about the systems I have in place.
All in all, having simplify as my word of the year was a complete game-changer!
