Sharpie Paint Pens Christmas Glassware – DIY

Sharpie Paint Pens on Glassware

I dont know what it is about Sharpie paint pens, but I love them! Fine-tip or bold, in every color, especially gold and silver. One of my happy places is doodling with them on paper and even more fun is being creative with them on glass or ceramics. The other day I started doodling, and all of a sudden the idea of Christmas glassespopped into my head, and then a Christmas tree appeared! Yes, literally. Now when I start my doodling, I kind of cant stop. I start winging it. I grabbed both the silver and gold Sharpie paint pens, a box of stemless wine glasses I had lying around, and well, got a little crazy. I started doodling, squiggling, and then these happened

Gold and silver Sharpie paint pens are readily available at craft and office supply stores. The stemless wine glasses I found at a great price, in sets of six, at TJ Maxx. You can also find them at Home Goods and Marshalls.?? These would make a GREAT hostess gift filled with Dove chocolates ???? Theyre also perfect for serving yummy desserts and bubbly at holiday parties!!

Tips:

  1. Keep a wet wipe handy so??you can wipe off a mistake. However, on glass, you do have to work faster and scrub a little harder. Dont wait to fix something!
  2. I let them set for??24 hours to make the Sharpie paint pen permanent. If youre in a hurry, you can pop them in a 200 degree oven for an hour. Set the temperature on the oven and place the glasses in right away. No preheating necessary. Set your timer for an hour. Turn off the oven and allow glasses to cool inside the oven before removing them.
  3. I recommend hand washing the glasses. Even the manufacturer recommended hand washing

Editors note: These glasses are delicate and should not go into the dishwasher. HAND WASH ONLY. Also, in order to make the paint pen more permanent, I would recommend baking the glasses at a very low temperature in your oven. Just place the glasses on a cookie sheet in the oven and preheat to 150-200 degrees. Bake for 20 minutes. Turn off the oven and allow the glasses to cool in the oven. Remove carefully from the oven and allow to set for 24-48 hours before using.
